In 2023, the CITMA Review won a Memcom Award for its bold designs, engaging content and the relaunch of its digital edition. The challenge since then has been to maintain this momentum and continue evolving, keeping members at the heart of the content while expanding its reach, driving sustainable innovation, and achieving commercial growth in a challenging market.

The CITMA Review has continued to grow and innovate as a central part of CITMA’s member engagement strategy.

Each of the six annual issues features:

• Bold, impactful design: Arresting covers and visuals that make complex legal concepts accessible.

• Member-authored content: Three to four key features per issue written by Chartered Trade Mark Attorneys, conceptualised by the editor and art director for maximum impact.

• Insight from industry leaders: Including regular contributions from the Chair of IPReg, the CEO of the UK IPO and Lead Executive Officer of IP Inclusive.

• Community focus: Features such as CITMA Insider and member-driven content on strategic priorities such as sustainability.

• Case analysis: Practical, engaging commentary on trade mark cases with strong visual support.

The digital edition in Shorthand, relaunched in 2023, mirrors the print edition and has seen record-breaking engagement.

 IMPACT

• Audience engagement: Record digital pageviews in 2024, up 124% year-on-year and now more than three times the 2022 levels.

• Sustainability leadership: The CITMA Review is carbon balanced via the World Land Trust, saving 134kg of CO2 in Q1 2025.

• Membership growth: CITMA had 3% member growth in 2024, with the CITMA Review playing a central role in member satisfaction.
