Think, the UK’s leading content agency for membership organisations, is delighted to announce that it has joined the Carbon Balanced Paper programme. Think works with over 50 membership bodies, including the National Trust for Scotland, Certsure, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), Mensa, and the Campaign for Real Ale, and has enrolled 29 of its print titles in the scheme, reinforcing its environmental credentials, which have been a core focus since the company was founded over 25 years ago.
“The Carbon Balanced Paper programme allows us to offset the emissions created from the production of magazine papers,” explained Justin Masters, Production Director at Think. “The initiative offers a great solution with its trusted research and ethical approach to forest protection and preservation.”
Through the World Land Trust’s programme, Think is able to mitigate a significant proportion of its carbon emissions. “Our clients are very conscious of carbon emissions and look for positive progress,” said Masters. “This programme not only meets this need but also helps protect vital habitats around the world.”
“We are thrilled that Think has joined the Carbon Balanced Paper programme and community,” said Paul Opie, Partnership Director of CarbonCo. “Their commitment to sustainability is embedded as a pillar of their business, making a measurable difference as we transition to a low-carbon economy. We really look forward to continuing to support them on their carbon reduction journey.”
Carbon Balanced Paper and Print works with the international environmental charity World Land Trust, which uses funds raised through the scheme to protect and restore some of the world’s most threatened and biodiverse forests. With specific carbon projects in Mexico, Uganda, and Guatemala, Carbon Balanced Paper and Print provides funds that protect these habitats and the wildlife within them while preventing the release of CO2 into the atmosphere through deforestation and forest degradation. It also sequesters carbon through reforestation and regeneration work.
As part of the Carbon Balanced Paper and Print scheme, companies can use the highly trusted and recognised World Land Trust logo on their paper and print materials to demonstrate their support and corporate responsibility. The total amount of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) balanced and the land area preserved and protected are recorded on a unique certificate, which can be used for environmental reporting and marketing purposes.
